This message appears when your Google Workspace administrator has restricted third-party application access across your organization. It means Folderly Messenger hasn't been reviewed or trusted in your company's Google Admin Console yet — and until it is, no user in your organization will be able to connect their mailbox.
To resolve this, a Super Admin needs to approve Folderly in the Google Admin Console.
Granting Folderly access
Option A (Recommended) — Trust Folderly specifically
This is the most secure approach. It approves only Folderly, without changing your organization's broader app access policy.
Your Super Admin should sign in to the Google Admin Console at admin.google.com.
Navigate to [Security](1)→ [Access and data control](2)→ [API controls](3).
Click the [Manage App Access] button (3).
Click [Configure new app] (4).
Search for Folderly Messenger or insert this Folderly ID:
127632998417-1h6rvq0sahbo2ic9csvisbm9m0mnflu9.apps.googleusercontent.com
Select the relevant organizational units (or apply to your whole organization) (7) and click [Continue].
Under [Access to Google Data], select:
7a. [Trusted]: Can access all Google services.
7b. If you're for some reason, can't choose [Trusted], choose [Specific Google data] (9)→ [Update Google services or scopes] (10).
In the pop-up window choose the following highlighted scopes and click [Save].
Click [Continue]→[Configure access] to save.
Go back to Folderly and connect the mailbox — it should now go through without errors.
I'm a user, not an admin
On the error screen, click "Request access". This sends a notification directly to your Google Workspace admin asking them to review Folderly. Once they approve it following the steps above, you can go back to Folderly and connect your mailbox.
My admin approved Folderly, but I'm still seeing the "Access blocked" error. What's wrong?
Two common causes:
The change hasn't fully propagated yet — wait 10–15 minutes and try signing out and back in.
The admin applied the approval to the wrong organizational unit (OU). Make sure the user's OU is covered by the trust policy, not just the top-level domain.
The user clicked "Request access" but the admin says they didn't receive any notification. Where do they look?
Admin notifications go to the email address associated with the Super Admin account. Alternatively, the admin can find pending requests directly in the Admin Console under Security → API controls → App access control → Configured apps and look for pending items. The fastest path is still for the admin to just add and trust Folderly manually following the steps above.
What Google permissions (OAuth scopes) does Folderly request?
Folderly requests access to sign in to account, send and read email on behalf of the user, which is necessary for the sending process to function. These are standard Gmail API scopes. If your organization has a policy restricting specific scopes, please contact us via chat on the website or support@folderly.com
